The Southwest National Service Conference (#SWNSC) is being coordinated by OneStar Foundation, the state service commission in Texas. The event will take place from June 8-10, 2015 at the Sheraton Fort Worth in Fort Worth, TX.

AGENDA

  • Pre-Conference Events: June 8 at 8:30 a.m. (mandatory for all OneStar AmeriCorps*Texas Grantees. Please see agenda to see if your program has a pre-conference event.)
  • Opening Plenary: June 8 at 1:30 PM
  • Closing Session: June 10 at 3:30 PM-5:00 PM

REGISTRATION
Registration is closed and at capacity. 

Registration Fee: $165 

The first 100 registrations using promo code SW100 receive a $30 discount.

Early-bird registration closes after the first 100 uses of the promo code. Previous regional trainings have sold out, so register early, as it is possible registration will close prior to May 18 if we reach capacity before the deadline.

PAYMENT
Online registration will provide you with the option to pay by credit card via paypal or mail a check. To pay by check please send payment by May 29. Checks should be made payable to America's Service Commissions and sent to America's Service Commissions, 1625 K St NW, 5th Floor, Washington, DC 20006. Please include a copy of your registration confirmation with the check. Failure to submit payment by May 29 may lead to your registration being cancelled.

The 2015 Southwest National Service Conference is proud to support Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). TAPS offers compassionate care to all those grieving the death of a loved one serving in our Armed Forces. Since 1994, TAPS has provided comfort and hope 24 hours a day, seven days a week through a national peer support network and connection to grief resources, all at no cost to surviving families and loved ones. 

Through Hotels for Hope's RoomFunding™ platform, every room night booked through the contracted room block generates a $2 donation to the TAPS project. This project will fund the training of 200 Good Grief Camp volunteers to be one-on-one mentors with children that attend the Good Grief Camp.

LODGING 
The Southwest National Service Conference will take place at the Fort Worth Sheraton Hotel, 1701 Commerce Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102. Conveniently located in Downtown Fort Worth, the hotel is across the street from the Fort Worth Water Gardens and just blocks from numerous downtown restaurants.  To make reservations at the discounted conference rate, please book your room online here:https://www.starwoodmeeting.com/events/start.action?id=1503124109&key=2180F02E. Rooms have been given a discounted rate of $129.00 for single/double, $139.00 for triple and $149.00 quad occupancy.  Rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis and must be made no later than Sunday, May 18, 2015.

Due to the overwhelming amount of interest in this year’s Southwest National Service Conference, our host hotel room block at the Sheraton Fort Worth is nearly full. If you try to reserve a room through the room block and are told that it is unavailable, you still have options! If you would like to stay at the host hotel for the conference and do not require the GSA rate, you can still reserve a room outside of the room block at http://www.sheratonfortworth.com/.

If you require the local GSA rate of $144 per night ($165.60 after taxes) or less, we have been able to reserve rooms at 3 other nearby hotels. Please click here for more details on the other hotel options. Reservations must be made by Monday, May 18, 2015.

Recommended airport: Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (25 miles to the hotel) Dallas Love Field is 35 miles away, but faces heavier traffic.

ACCOMMODATIONS
If you have accommodation request or special need (e.g. dietary restriction, service animal reflief area, interpreter, or Braile) for the conference please indicate so when you register in the space provided. For accomodation requests that are related to your hotel room, please speak with the hotel directly.

We will make every reasonable effort to provide effective accommodations for conference participants. Accommodation requests should be made at the time of registration.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations may be made at anytime. Refunds for registration will be processed up to May 29 with a $10 maximum processing fee. After May 29, you forfeit your registration fee with cancellation.
