The National Service Training Events are hosted by a state service commission across different regions. This year, the conferences will be led by America’s Service Commissions, the national association of state service commissions, in partnership with Service Year Alliance, an organization relentlessly pursuing a bold vision to make a year of service a common expectation and opportunity for all young Americans as a way to tackle important challenges while transforming their own lives.
Supporting nearly 1,000 national service program staff in their professional development, these events provide program staff with the tools to effectively manage AmeriCorps and other state service programs making a difference throughout the country.
Each training offers workshops on topics including grants management, budget management, financial monitoring, performance measurement, national service criminal history checks and many other topics to support program and fiscal staff in the effective management of national service grants.
Due to changes in funding, the 2018 conferences are designed to provide training to three primary audiences:
1) AmeriCorps State & National program staff
2) Service Year program staff
3) State service commission staff and commissioners
However, all streams of national service are encouraged and welcome to attend, including but not limited to: AmeriCorps VISTA, AmeriCorps NCCC, Senior Corps, Social Innovation Fund, Tribal grantees, and Volunteer Generation Fund grantees.
