This event is hosted by America's Service Commissions (ASC) in partnership with Serve Wisconsin. Please note: To register for the conference, you will first need to create an ASC profile or log-in to your existing ASC account using the event registration link provided. If you are a new user, enter your email under "New Users" to create an account. If you already have an ASC account but do not know your password, click "Forgot Password" and enter your work email address. You'll then be prompted to create/update your password in the system. If you have not cancelled by April 17 you are still responsible for your registration payment. ![]() Keynote Speaker: Ashley C. Ford We are excited to announce our 2020 keynote speaker for all three regional conferences - author, host, and AmeriCorps Alum, Ashley C. Ford! Ashley C. Ford lives in Brooklyn by way of Indiana. She is currently writing her memoir, Somebody's Daughter, which will be published by Flatiron Books under the imprint An Oprah Book. Ashley is the current host of Fortune Favors the Bold, a podcast by Mastercard. She is the former host of Buzzfeed News’ PROFILE and the Brooklyn-based news & culture TV show 112BK. She is also working on a collection of interviews (B-Side Chats) with her husband, Kelly Stacy. Ford has written or guest-edited for The Guardian, ELLE, BuzzFeed, OUT Magazine, Slate, Teen Vogue, New York Magazine, Lenny Letter, INTO and various other web and print publications. As an interviewer and on-camera host, Ashley has been in conversation with top talent including: Roxane Gay, Jordan Peele, Samantha Bee, Jeff Daniels, Lupita N'yongo, Jesse Williams, Serena Williams, Stacey Abrams, and Maria Shriver. Ashley is a proud AmeriCorps alum of the Midwest Campus Compact Citizen Scholar Program (M3C), an education award-only AmeriCorps program administered by Wisconsin Campus Compact which served 10 states, including Indiana. The program supported low-income and first-generation college students, and sought to develop a peer network that enabled these students to serve as agents of civic engagement to respond effectively to local community issues. Ashley served as an M3C AmeriCorps member from 2005-2006 as part of an afterschool literacy tutoring site in Muncie, Indiana. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event. Closest Airport: LODGING: All conference sessions will take place at the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee. The Hilton Milwaukee City Center hotel is across the SkyWalk from the event center and will serve as our headquarters hotel.
